Fullers: Vintage Ale 2009 8.5% [500ml]

They say “It might be an unlucky number for some, but even the most superstitious connoisseur would struggle to find fault with our 13th Vintage Ale. The beer became the collection’s first major award winner. The aroma picks out orange notes and rich marzipan character. On the palate, it’s full and well rounded, showing some ‘sherryfication’ and slight caramelised notes - but the warming alcohol finish is still highly prominent.”

We say “This is indeed akin to a beautifully warming sherry, sweet with raisins, barrel notes and molasses. This is a big beer not afraid to show you its boozy character and sponge pudding-like malts, backed up by woody bitter notes.”
