Chemist and founder Leo Imai, he honed his skills studying at Heriot Watt and with stints at breweries in Ireland, Germany and Belgium to learn how to make beer. Establishing the Owa brewery in 2007 as a gypsy brewery producing World-Class beer on a limited scale. With a desire to fuse the best of Belgium beer and Japanese food, Owa’s Lambic beers incorporate Japanese plum and yuzu.
